Congenital pulmonary lymphangiectasia is a rare and perphaps underestimated cause of fatal respiratory distress in the neonate or infant. Pathologically, this condition is characterized by wide lymphatic channels in the subpleural and peribronchovascular spaces and the interlobular septa.
