Acute megakaryoblastic leukemia is an uncommonly recognized disorder that is characterized by
rapidly progressive proliferation of atypical megakaryocytes and their precursor cells, and fatal
course. Abnormalities in chromosome 21 may have a more than random relationship to acute
megakaryoblastic leukemia.
The authors reports a case of acute megakaryoblastic leukemia in a 2 month old female patient
who was admitted for evaluation of hepatosplenomgaly.

Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia due to ABO Incompatibility was contributed to Kemicterus in our
country.
We studied the difference between ABO compatible group and incompatible group, such as, day of
appearance of Hyperbilirubinemia, tendency of bilirubin concentration change, reticulocyte, hemoglo-
bin, and duration of Hyperbilirubinemia. As a result, clinical symptoms were more severe in incom-
patible group rather than compatible group.

Isoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura is an uncommon cause of purpura in the newborn infant,
caused by fetal-maternal platelet incompatibility. The maternal isoantibodies against fetal platelet
antigens, which are lacked in mother’s platelets, cross placenta and cause destructions of baby’s
platelet. A bady bom with IITP was diagnosed in the first day of life and treated successfully with
platelet concentrate of mother’s blood.

Apnea is defined as cessation of respiration for longer than 10 〜20sec with or without bradycardia or cyanosis.
It is more frequent in premature than full-term infants. The medical records of 96 premature infants of gestational age below 36 weeks who were hospitalized at Nursery of Ewha University Hospital during the period from July, 1982 to July, 1984, were analyzed.... |
