Question: Are parent and child obesity correlated worldwide?
Finding: Overweight and obese status of parents and children were significantly associated worldwide. The association between parent and child obesity was stronger in Asia than in Europe and the Middle East, and in high-income than in middle- and low-income countries.
Meaning: Childhood obesity is highly influenced by parental weight status, indicating that parents could play an important role in its prevention. |

However, there is controversy whether the eradication of H. pylori infection can resolve duodenal stenosis complicated by duodenal ulcers. After the eradication of H. pylori infection, duodenal stenosis complicated by duodenal ulcer was resolved in... |

Congenital adrenal hyperplasia(CAH) is a recognized cause of precocious pseudopuberty. Some children with CAH also develop true precocious puberty with early maturation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. We review a case of CAH who eventually developed central precocious puberty nine months after initial treatment with corticosteroid. A 3-year-old boy visited complaining of rapid growth, a large penis and frequent penile erections.... |

Purpose : The safety of MMR(Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) immunization to children with egg
allergies has been debated for decades because the live attenuated virus used in the vaccine is
grown in cultured chick-embryo fibroblasts. Many studies that investigated adverse reactions to
MMR vaccine have been reported abroad, but there has been no report in Korean children. So,
this study is aimed at determining... |

Since Pallister first described 12p tetrasomy syndrome in 1977, approximately 50 patients have been described. Chromosomal study of lymphocyte is normal in most cases, but fibroblasts usually reveal 12p tetrasomy in chromosomal study. We report on a 17-month-old male infant with Pallister-Killian syndrome. He was admitted in our hospital for investigation of developmental delay and myoclonic seizure. He was diagnosed... |

But pancreatitis is an unusual complication of SLE, occuring in only 3-4% of lupus cohort. Multiple mechanisms contributing to pancreatitis associated with SLE have been demonstrated which include vasculitis, necrotizing pancreatitis, corticosteroid administration, and vascular thrombosis. Purpose : Neonatal hepatitis and congenital extrahepatic biliary atresia are two major causes of neonatal cholestasis. But the method of therapeutic trials used for each disease is essentially different. Nonetheless, it is very difficult to differentiate these diseases clinically and histologically.
