Acute megakaryoblastic leukemia is an uncommonly recognized disorder that is characterized by rapidly progressive proliferation of atypical megakaryocytes and their precursor cells, and fatal course. Abnormalities in chromosome 21 may have a more than random relationship to acute megakaryoblastic leukemia.
