Abstract |
Seven cases of paroxysmal tachycardia in infants and children were presented, which have been observed during the past 5 years at St. .Mary’s Hospital. 1.The six cases were male and the rest one was female. 2.The two cases of them were complicated with congestive heart failure. 3.The intervals between the estimated onset of the attack and the time when they were brought to the hospital were ranged from two to ten days. 4.The complaints by their parents were poor sucking, irritability, palpitation, dyspnea, edema on legs, syncopal attack and vomiting.
5.Two of them had Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. 6.In each attack, they responded to digitalization.
7.Reflex stimulation of the vagus nerve was attempted in two occasions but it was failed.
