Abstract |
Clinical studies were done vith 14,139 students from kindergarten to middle school between April and June of 1973, when upper respiratory infection were nation wide spreaded. The incidence of U.R.I. was high in kindergarten students and low in middle school students. The symptoms were more severe than previous colds, and had fever, cough, poor appetite, sore throat, headache and coryza. The fever was prominent in younger age, while headche was imp- ortant symptom in older children. The rise in incidence of U.R.I. was seen when the families had U.R.I. Adenoviruses were isolated from pharyngeal swab in several cases, but serotypes were not determined.
