An 3490gm. weighing male baby was born by Baccum delivery. The baby expired at 8th hours after birth, due to congenital duodenal atresia associated with massive hematemesis. Postmortem examation. revealed as the following; The lumen of duodenum was completely obstructed with diaphragm-like membrane. The stomach
was markedly dilated and contained the blood of approximately 70ml. of amounts. The bleeding points were scattered on the wall of the stomach, predominantly of the fundus, and showed macroscopically the erosions of the gastric mucosa looking like as the pin-pointed and moth eaten lesion appearance. There were also found subcutaneous and periosteal hemorrhage of the parieto-occipital region due to birth injury and undescending testis (left side). Microscopically there were no characteristic defects of the gestric wall and duodenum and of the other parts.
