Abstract
Allergic skin test is essential for the diagnosis of the allergic disease. This kind of skin test does not only give help to the cure and diagnosis of allergic disease, especially asthma, rhinitis, etc, but also help find out the positivity of the general population By this test, we think it will help find out the relevance between this kind of positive reaction and symptoms, and the prognosis of allergic desease. For this reason, the test on the positive ratio of the pediatric age group provides significance and would give an opportunity to compare with the adult age group. The test objects were the 412 boys and 352 girls of kindergarten through middle school from the city of Pohang and its two neighboring counties. The test was given to the 746 samples by the scratch method with 5 kinds of inhalant antigens such as house dust, cockroach D. Farinae, silk and Alternaria which were made by Japanese Torri Company. 1) The positive ratio of the common pediatric age group was 30.0%. 2) The positive ratio showed high percentage to the kindergarten children, then decreased at the age of 8 through 9. Thus, as the age rose, the accord showed the tendency of increase and it was much higher to the boys in accordance with sex. 3) The allergens which showed positive on the skin test were the followings: D. Farinae 20.4% House dust 14.7% Cockroach 10.2% Silk 8.9% Alternaria 3.9% 4) Amont the children who showed positive on the skin test, those who wrote the history of allergic disease (such as asthma, nasal stuffyness) in the survery were the followings: 7 out of 19 kindergarten children (36.8%) 26 out of 110 primary school children (23.6%) 14 out of 77 middle school children (18.2%) 47 out of 206 in total (22.8%)
