Abstract
Kimura’s disease is a rare, benign disease characterized by single or multiple subcutaneous nodules, eosinophilia and distinctive histopathologic features. Seven cases of Kimura’s disease under 15 yeaps of age who were admitted to the Dept, of Pediatrics, Seoul National University Hospital from Apr. 1983 to July 1987 were reviewed. The results were as follows: 1) The lesions were noted between the ages of 28 months and 15 years. 2) Chief complaints were eyelid edema, submandibular & postauricular mass, fever, and general- ized lymphadenopathy. 3) Lymphadenopathy was found in all cases. 4) Eosinophilia in the peripheral blood was found in five cases. 5) Two of the seven cases were improved with prednisolone alone. 6) Five of the seven cases were treated with mass excision and prednisolone. One was lost to follow up, one was improved with prednisolone alone, and three recurred but improved after radiotherapy.
