Gastroschisis is a very rare congenital malformation of the abd. wall in the newborn and prompt surgical repair is required. A case of gastroschisis was experienced and has surgery at II Sin Women’s Hospital the baby has been well since discharge without complication.

At present there is argument for and against the use of prophylatic antibiotics in simple prolonged ruptured membranes.
