Abstract
It is well known that many endocrine substances, esp. steroid hormones, affect the serum cholesterol metabolism. On one hand the pituitary grwth hormone has an influence upon the lipid metabolism and the gradual increase in serum cholesterol level may have something to do with this hormone. The author administered the pituitary arowth hormone to the mature rabbits and the results obtained were as follows: An administration of 20 units of growth hormone to rabbits for 8 weeks showed an increase of serum total cholesterol level of approximately 90% over the control rabbits group
