We have observed 259 cases of Infectious Hepatitis during the last 8 years from Aug. 1966 to Jul. 1974, who were hospitalized at the pediatric department of the YonSei University, College of Medicine. Two Cases of Methemoglobinemia due to Ingestion of 4,4'-Diaminodiphenylsulfone (Dapsone, DDS)

Two cases of methemoglobinemia due to accidental ingestion of DDS was reported. On physical examination, cardiac or pulmonic diseases couldn’t be detected, but cyanosis was remarkable on their lips, cheeks, fingers, and oral mucosa. Methemoglobin was determined, the results of which were 25%, and 30. 4% of total hemoglobin respectively. Review of literature was made briefly.

This is a case report of phenobarbital idiosyncrasy in a 2 months old female. The patient was admitted to our pediatric ward with symptoms of cyanosis, tachycardia and cheyne stoke respirations a few minutes after taking a small dose of phenobarbital.
