Assessment of cardiac function in syncopal children without organic causes
Heoungjin Kim, Lucy Youngmin Eun
Clin Exp Pediatr. 2021;64(11):582-587.   Published online March 10, 2021
Question: Does a subtle deterioration in cardiac function affect the severity of syncope in patients without underlying disease?
Finding: For syncope patients with reasonable cardiac function but without underlying disease, tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) measurements helped reveal subtle differences in cardiac function with syncope and predicted the severity of syncope or a potential recurrent event.
Meaning: TDI measurements might be a useful indicator for predicting the severity of syncope.
Evaluation of cardiac function by tissue Doppler imaging in children with cancer
Yeo Hyang Kim
Clin Exp Pediatr. 2006;49(4):417-423.   Published online April 15, 2006
Purpose : The objectives of this study were to assess ventricular function by tissue Doppler imaging in children who were receiving chemotherapy or who had received chemotherapy, and to apply repeated tissue Doppler imaging to make an early assessment in cardiac toxicity studies. Methods : This study was conducted on 23 oncology patients on-treatment or off-treatment from April 2005 to July...
Quantitative Assessment of Myocardial Tissue Velocity in Normal Children with Doppler Tissue Imaging : Reference Values, Growth and Heart Rate Related Change
Se Young Kim, Myung Chul Hyun, Sang Bum Lee
Clin Exp Pediatr. 2005;48(8):846-856.   Published online August 15, 2005
Purpose : To measure the peak myocardial tissue velocities and patterns of longitudinal motion of atrioventricular(AV) annuli and assess body weight and heart rates-related changes in normal children. Methods : Using pulsed wave Tissue Doppler Imaging(TDI), we measurpeak systolic, early and late diastolic myocardial velocities in 72 normal children at six different sites in apical-4 chamber (A4C) view and at...
Assessment of Cardiac Function in Neonates by Using Tissue Doppler Imaging
Hee Chul Yoon, Jae Hoon Choe, Sun Young Kim, In Kyu Lee, Myung Ho Oh
Clin Exp Pediatr. 2004;47(9):959-964.   Published online September 15, 2004
Purpose : Tissue Doppler imaging(TDI) is recently being used for assessement of regional ventricular function in adults. However, data in neonates have not been established yet. The aim of this study is to establish reference values of TDI velocities and to investigate the effect of other factors on TDI velocites in the neonatal population. Methods : Forty eight healthy neonates with...
