One case of hereditary spherocytosis with aplastic crisis.

We experienced one case of hereditiary spherocytosis with aplastic crisis who was 3 year-old female. On admission, there were pallor and fever. Diagnosis was made by pressence of spherocytes in peripheral blood smear, osmotic fragility test, and bone marrow examination. A brief review of related literature was made.

Five patients in a family were admitted to the department of peditrics and medicine, CNUH on July 17th, 1984 because of respiratory arrest after ingestion of the rotten sausage. All four children of five patients were expired, but only adult patient was recovered completely. Epidemiological outbreak, clinical course and animal toxin challenge test were compatible with botulism poisoning.

The authors experienced a case of chylous ascites with chylothorax, who was 4-month-old male infant. The clinical symptoms, signs and laboratory findings were compatible with chylothorax and chylous ascites. Clinical study and review of literature were presented briefly.
