A rare form of congenital cystic lung disease, characterized by the presence of one or usually multiple interconnecting cyst, is called congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation of the lung. This disease almost invariably presents either in live premature or stillborn infants, and death in those infants bom alive usually occurs within a few hours of birth.
